This was Carla and Lynette's lean and teen pop-punk side project from 1994-1996, during the early days of Plumtree and with school friend Lisa Verge on guitar. They recorded this cassette debut using two four-tracks in various rooms of the Gillis family home, and designed the cover using nail polish, Saran wrap and a shopping mall photocopier.

Their goal with the band was to start and finish songs in the span of one practice, play them fast and generally not take things very seriously. Whereas Plumtree's audience was the college rock crowd, Absolutely Nothing gave the Gillis sisters a musical outlet in Halifax's all-ages punk scene, which they were loyal members of.
