about

Predicts The Future is the second album by Halifax's Plumtree, and the first featuring bassist Catriona Sturton following Nina Martin's departure.

It was recorded by Laurence Currie at Idea of East in Halifax during the fall of 1996 while the band juggled university classes and part-time jobs at gelato cafes, bagel shops and the YMCA. The band released three singles/videos from Predicts, including Go, You Just Don't Exist and Scott Pilgrim.

Scott Pilgrim went on to inspire the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley, and the film Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, based on his books, hit theatres in 2010. The film and soundtrack feature Plumtree songs Scott Pilgrim and Go!

Album guest players: slide guitar by Tracy Stevens; percussion by Julian Marentette
