about

This EP is the only release by Sister, the band formed by Carla and Lynette after they moved from Vancouver to Toronto in 2008. Bass duties were held down by Ryan Myshrall, who appears on this record, and later by Pete Johnston.

The songs were mostly written during Carla's creative writing degree at the University of British Columbia from 2004-2007, and draw from memories of touring with Plumtree. They were worked out as a band in the basement of the 401 Richmond building in Toronto, where Sister rehearsed (and where Plumtree recorded its final album).

Peter Elkas recorded, produced and mixed this five-song EP in his west-end Toronto apartment over a few seasons, and for the price of a secondhand desktop computer. There were laughs, beers, Telecasters, foster dogs (RIP, Muffin) and melodica hilarity.
