The Lord Almightys formed in Toronto in 2015 as a fast-and-punchy songwriting vehicle for Myles Deck (Myles Deck and the Fuzz, Cauldron) and Carla Gillis, though Myles ended up writing most of the songs.

In the fall of 2015, the band toured out to Halifax, where three of the members are from, and they recorded this four-song cassette just in time to bring it with them.
